Attention Ted Lasso fans, how excited were you tha Attention Ted Lasso fans, how excited were you that Season 3 started last week? I couldn't wait to see Episode 1, and I can't wait to see Episode 2 tomorrow.

As I watched Season 3, Episode 1 last week, one line of dialogue stood out to me. Ted was speaking to his therapist after dropping his son off at the airport to head back to the States, and he was feeling a bit sad. He was also facing the start of a new season as a soccer (football) coach, in which his AFC Richmond was predicted to finish last. Ted had a reason to doubt himself because the odds were against him and his team.

His therapist, Dr. Sharon Fieldstone, told Ted, "Doubt can only be removed by action," to which Ted replied, "Ooh, I like that."

I share this with you because you may be doubting yourself, too. When self-doubt shows up, we're afraid to make a mistake. We're so scared that we won't achieve the outcome we seek. Self-doubt can paralyze us from taking the action we need to take to succeed at anything. We avoid making decisions or taking action out of fear.

The antidote to self-doubt and fear of failure is to take action. That's also when the motivation to keep going shows up.

Our weight loss clients often come to us filled with self-doubt because they have been unable to maintain their weight loss results from previous dieting attempts. We teach them to believe in themselves in ways they've never tried when losing weight. That's where we always start!

Will a 4-Day work week ever happen in the U.S.? A Will a 4-Day work week ever happen in the U.S.?

A bill has been re-introduced to change the 40-hour work week to 32 hours weekly. But you work over 40 hours a week as a full-time corporate employee. You may even work in the evenings and sometimes on the weekends. You might even check your phone while you're on vacation so you can "manage your inbox" while you're away. Sound familiar?

You know that if legislation is passed, the culture remains the same.

▪️The culture that makes you feel like you must attend every meeting to which you are invited
▪️The culture that expects you to answer emails promptly, even if there's not an urgent matter
▪️The culture that makes you believe that you have to be productive at all costs (even if your own mental and physical health suffers)
▪️The culture that makes you think you have to work more hours than your colleagues to get a promotion get a bigger bonus, or keep your job
▪️The culture that wants you to believe they care about employee wellness by offering you a "corporate wellness program"

Our clients hire us to help them lose weight and become healthier, but that can only happen if they start to set boundaries for themselves at work. I see it all the time. Successful women, driven and high-achievers at work, don't know how to care for themselves. They are stressed, overwhelmed, and see no way out of the pattern at work if they want to continue to be successful.

You will be more productive if you care for your body and health.

You will enjoy your work more.

You will feel better than you have in years!

You will wonder why it took you so long to take matters into your own hands.

It's up to you to make changes and not wait for a bill to pass. It's always been up to you!

If you are ready to feel better, lose weight, and learn how you can become even more successful than you already are, click the link below to schedule a complimentary 30-minute call with one of our coaches, click the link in our bio.

Everyone has a food story and many of us have a di Everyone has a food story and many of us have a dieting story.

The first step in our work together with our clients is to know that story. What’s your history with food, dieting, and your body?

Creating self-awareness is the first step to us helping you lose weight.

Step 1⃣ - Take inventory. Assess your current thoughts, beliefs, and actions related to food, dieting, and your body.
Step 2⃣ - Stay curious. Why do I think xxx?, Why do I believe xxx? Why do I do xxx?
Step 3⃣ - Seek feedback. Ask a trusted friend, mentor, colleague, nutrition coach, or therapist for feedback about you.
Step 4⃣ - Challenge your thinking. Now, create your new story. How would you like to think, believe, and act about food, dieting, and your body?
Step 5⃣ - Create a plan. How will you create your new truth about food, dieting, and your body?

Have you ever taken any of the five steps when you’ve tried to lose weight?

The one thing you need to try to lose weight, that The one thing you need to try to lose weight, that you may not know about is a…

(Drum 🥁 Roll)…..Diet Break!

We all need breaks!

Breaks from:
✔️working out
✔️people
✔️work
✔️stressful situations
Basically, we need breaks from everything and everyone to be able to come back stronger, more focused, and with a renewed sense of enthusiasm, more energy, and to show up as our best selves.

We propose that you may need a diet break for the same reasons.

A diet break is not a “cheat” meal or day. It is a prescribed, and planned break from being in a caloric deficit (a.k.a. Dieting).

Here are some of the benefits:

✅ You can periodically increase your calories to maintenance calories to accommodate your schedule
✅ Psychological break from dieting
✅ Allows you to practice for real life scenarios (social events, business trips, etc)
✅ You may break through a weight loss plateau. Sounds counterintuitive, but it can happen
✅ Your are likely to lose more weight but it will take longer
✅ People who took diet breaks were more likely to maintain their weight loss than those who didn’t take a break

You can try two days a week at first, then there are other strategies like 2:2 weeks, deficit: maintenance calories or you could do a 3:1 strategy or 4:1.

Go to tdeecalculator.net to determine your deficit and maintenance calories and you can give it a try for yourself.

Be like Chester (Coach @superg_cali’s dog and take a break.

If you need help determination your maintenance calories, DM us and we’ll help you find the right number for you.
